Paul H Jepsen's Legacy
History
The Paul H Jepsen Scholarship was created in 2002 by his son Ed, with the dual goals of assisting deserving Omaha Central High School graduates in financing their college education and providing a vehicle for the family to come together each year. Ed named the scholarship in honor of his father, who instilled in his family a deep sense of the importance of education. Paul (1929) and Ed (1961), along with family members Jackie McLellan (1958) and Bruce and Holly Hoberman (1965) were all graduates of Central and have always appreciated the positive effect it had on their lives.
Mission
The mission of the Paul H Jepsen Scholarship is to select candidates based on financial need, history of academic performance and extracurricular activities to obtain a college experience they may not otherwise achieve without the financial assistance provided by the Scholarship. The hope and expectation is that the individuals will be of the character and inclination to use their education to not only realize their potential but also to be significant contributors in their professional and social communities.
